Suspect Nabbed After Bank Robbery On Long Island

A suspect has been apprehended after a bank robbery on Long Island.

The robbery happened Friday, Nov. 8 at 5:45 pm in Garden City South.

According to Nassau County Police detectives, the suspect, now identified as Patrick Pelayo, 43, of Garden City South, entered the Valley National Bank on 339 Nassau Boulevard, approached a teller and made verbal demands for money.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, Pelayo left the bank and was last seen on foot northbound on Nassau Boulevard towards Princeton Avenue, police said.

Pelayo has been charged with third-degree robbery and is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
